CBCT Scan

A CBCT scan, also known as Cone Beam Computerized Tomography, is an x-ray technique that produces 3D images of the skull. It allows visualization of internal bony structures in cross-section instead of overlapping images typically provided by conventional x-ray exams. .The scan provides detailed images of the bones, and it is performed to find diseases of the dentition, jaws, bony structures of the face, nasal cavity, and sinuses. The growing accessibility of this technology is now providing the dental clinician an imaging modality, which is useful in creating a 3-D representation of the maxillofacial structures with minimal radiation hazards.

How does Vrinda Diagnostics offer a Low Cost for the CBCT Scans?

Knowing that CBCT Scan is a leading tool for maxillofacial diagnostics, we at Vrinda Diagnostics, put in a conscientious effort in bringing down prices to the lowest we can offer.

  • Profits by Volumes: At Vrinda Diagnostics we strongly believe that our volumes will drive profits and not the other way around. However, one of the downsides we acknowledge is that it is not uncommon to expect to wait at our facilities for the scan. Yet, we put in our efforts to give you the industry-leading quality at a substantially subsidized cost.
  • Market Leading Technology: For CBCT Scans, we deploy industry-leading technology such as Italy based CBCT Specialist OEM – NewTom’s CBCT Scanner. Better technology enables us to lower our down-times, better manage routine maintenance, thus enabling us to operate leaner and yet give you the best in class output at an affordable cost.
  • No-Commission/Referral Policy: Many times, leading imaging centers and hospitals need to enroll aggregators, 3rd party websites at a referral/commission and other partners to drive volumes for CBCT Scans. We at Vrinda Diagnostics, avoid such financial relationships, and simply extend this benefit directly to the customer as a discount.

Advantages of CBCT

Advantages of CBCT scans include: Unlike Traditional CT Scans which generally hover around the precision of 0.625mm slices, the CBCT scanner manages to much more precise slice thickness nearing 0.05mm slices. This allows for multiple benefits in scan precision while also lowering the radiation dose administered to the patient

A) Higher precision when planning implant and other surgeries.
B) Greater chance for diagnosing conditions like vertical root fractures and endodontic the pathology that can be skipped in conventional x-rays.
C) Higher chance of providing images and information which may result in the patient avoiding unnecessary and invasive dental treatment.
D) Finer detection of third molar (wisdom teeth) positioning in proximity to vital structures such as nerves and blood vessels before removal. The CBCT scan also enhances your dentist’s ability to see what needed to be done before treatment begins.
F) It enhances patient safety, reduces discomfort, more predictable outcomes, and faster treatments.

Limitations & Challenges in CBCT

  • Women during pregnancy are advised not to undergo a CBCT scan due to potential harm to the fetus. Please inform the dentist if you are pregnant at the time of the planned treatment and diagnostics.
  • As it is based on Computed Tomography, CBCT falls short of MRI in evaluation of soft tissue structures such as muscles, lymph nodes, glands, and nerves.

General Applications of CBCT

  • Surgical plan for impacted teeth
  • Temporomandibular joint disorder
  • Dental implants placements
  • Evaluation of jaw, nerve canals, sinuses, etc.
  • Bone structure and tooth orientation
  • Locating the origin of pain
  • Cephalometric analysis
  • Orthodontics
  • Pre-implant imaging
  • Airway evaluation
